Happy Wednesday!…Oh boy, do I have a treat for you!…Literally! My favorite Holiday is Halloween, so it is a no brainer that I would create a tablescape for Halloween. I love to set a mood when decorating, hence my Fall tablescape. This Halloween, I decided that I wanted to create an eerie, spooky, ghostly macabre atmosphere so I dug out my Halloween box and pulled out my past Halloween decor that I could use to make this table setting come alive (Macabre Inspired Tablescape). After I set the table and made a pit stop to the craft store, I was left with empty skeleton hands. What to do, what to do? As I sat there thinking, a thought came to mind…whenever we (the mister and I) are invited to an adult dinner party, we always have the munchies while we are sitting there waiting for dinner to be served. So I thought, what better to do that than to make a “handful” of treats using Hershey’s Halloween candy from Walmart in the form a placeholder .
To create a “handful” of treats (placeholder) you need to have:
Hershey’s Halloween Candy
Tulle or fabric of some sort
name tag (placeholder)
*Skeleton hand (can be found at your local craft store)
The steps to putting these placeholder treat bags together are as follows:
1. Gather all your materials
2. Cut material to desired size. The larger the square the more candy you can fit in it.
3. Place Hershey’s Halloween candy into the middle of the square and bundle up your material (with the candy intact) and tie with your cut ribbon.
4. Attach you name tag (placeholder) to the treat bags.
5. Place treats inside the palm of your decorative skeleton hand. Please note, you do not have to use the skeleton hands, you can simply use the treat bags as placeholders sitting it right on top of the plates.
I am really in awe of this tablescape and I love, LOVE, love how the Hershey’s Halloween candy complimented my tablescape. The placeholder treat bags fills the hand so nicely and offers such a nice, sweet surprise for my guest to enjoy. They are appealing to eat and with the candy disguised in the bags with black sheer fabric, it does not take away from the eerie, ghostly atmosphere that I was trying to create. So this is a win-win for dinner party guest and for me as a designer.
The cool thing about using Hershey’s Halloween candy for my table setting is that I had so much candy left over for guest to take home or for us to use towards Trick or Treating. I am always looking for big bags of Halloween candy and I am so happy that Walmart sells BIG party bags of Hershey’s Halloween Candy for all the Halloween and Fall festivities that are and will be going on. Hershey’s Candy is a must for the Halloween season and the perfect addition to your festivities. For this holiday season, they have exclusive Halloween orange Reese’s featuring the message “Boo,” so be on the lookout when you buy your candy this Halloween.
How do you use Hershey candy to add a few more treats instead of tricks and what is your favorite Hershey sweets?
