My friend Monica from Monica Wants It had this crazy fun idea of hosting a Christmas in July where we would revisit some of our past Christmas DIY. Well, I am down for this especially since the fall season is just around the corner and Christmas will be here soon and ideas are already brewing.
To recap the past holiday season, Last winter I was in the middle of packing and preparing to move. During this time I decided to spruce up my townhouse rental and bring some cheer into my house. We ended up moving a couple days before Christmas. I do not know what possessed me to do this, all I know is the Christmas season does not feel like Christmas without a tree and holiday decor. Amidst the chaos of moving, I was able to create a whimsical, colorful, vintage-esque themed holiday home on a low budget. Today I will be linking back to 3 budget friendly Christmas ideas that anyone can recreate and make it into their own using items you may already have in your Christmas stash.
Last November, I took a trip to Target to dig through their Halloween clearance aisle and I found some inexpensive costume jewelry that I wanted to use to make a bling-ed out Christmas table setting. I did not know exactly how that was going to come together, but after taking out all my Christmas decor I realized that regular sized ornaments fit perfectly on my fake diamond bracelets. I ended up creating a whimsical mix and match table setting with 4 ornament place settings. Stay tune to find out what I used to decorate the head of the table.
Another simple, inexpensive Christmas idea that I have used numerous times during the holiday season is my DIY wrapping paper art. I am so cheap and this idea is so cool and budget friendly, I have no real reason to buy holiday art during the holiday season. It is literally as easy as it looks. I basically take pictures I have around the house and wrap them in holiday paper. How cool is that? LOL!!!
Remember just a moment ago when I was talking about my ornament place setting and I said to stay tune to see what amazing idea I had for the head of the table place setting? Well, I had this crazy idea to create napkin rings inspired by Santa’s belt buckle using everyday household items, colorful tape, and costume jewelry. Bling-bling!
This year, I may tone down all the color or I might go wild…I don’t know yet, but I have some ideas up my sleeve. I am excited to start planning for the upcoming holiday season and I would love it if you followed along on my Pinterest to see what holiday decor inspires me. Also, don’t forget to stop by other gals sites to check out their past Christmas decor.
