Every time I share a picture of my dining room on Instagram, I am always asked to share more of this glorious space. Just by the consensus, I think this is everyones favorite room in my house. My dining room doubles as my workspace and is one of the most used spaces in my home. After decorating this space, I realized how perfect it is for autumn. This is one of the only, if not, the only room in my house that I use traditional fall colors in. I normally do not decorate for fall, even though it is my favorite season, I typically skip straight to Halloween decor. However, I thought it would be nice to add a bit of autumn to the space

If you follow me on Instagram, you may notice this mirror. Serena and Lily was kind enough to send it my way, in hopes that I can share it with all of you. Originally, I did not know where to put this mirror. I had this big blank space in my dining room and I knew that this is where it belonged. The rattan bar cart soon followed and to be honest for a good while I did not like it there…until now! I kept feeling that the rattan and bamboo were working against each other. But after moving some art around, it started to flow and I am loving it! Before I forget, this mirror is called the Lanai Mirror and it comes in two sizes, the funny thing about that is I asked for the larger mirror (thinking bigger is better) and I think the smaller one would have been more sufficient in my house. This sucker is HUGE and oh so pretty! I do not have as much wall space as one may think.
Since I literally have no budget to decorate for fall, I thought it would be beneficial for me to just repurpose, reuse, and recycle what I already have. I have a stash of pumpkins that I have used in a handful of posts and projects and this year, decided to distribute them in my dining room adding little clusters here and there. What I love most about my dining room is all the brass, so I took that into account and they sort of double as fall decor to me because of the warm glow they give off. Also, let me put it this way, when you paint seasonal decor in colors you LOVE, you do not have to worry about it not every matching your style. It is always a plus when I do not have to bust out my paint!
The last time I showed off my dining room, I really tried to avoid photographing that that corner, I wasn’t really thrilled about it. After moving some things around in my sitting room, I was able to grab some wall decor and use it in this space. It really mixes well with all the other vintage elements in the space….THE WALL on the opposite side!
I don’t think I show off this apothecary cabinet as often as I should. I got it for FREE off of craigslist prior to moving from North Carolina. The curtain is Pottery Barn steal also purchased from Craigslist and trimmed with black ribbon. The art was a thrifted find. I used black electoral tape to add a border around the picture. Haha, I am so cheap!!! Oh and if you haven’t already done so, you just may want to subscribe to my site. By doing so, you will receive an eMagazine from me aka WORN: The ideal guide to secondhand shopping.
Here is a current view of the WALL…the view everyone LOVES!!!! I added some secondhand vintage hats to the wall, moved some stuff around, besides that nothing else has changed.
Here are some past fall post that I hope can inspire you when mixing and matching it up this season:
