Hey guys! Here is the day that y’all have been waiting for! This month I have been working endlessly on my master bedroom. It is not 100% complete, but I am taking my time and using what I have….and at this moment, this is what I have and the BEST that I can give until I find some other key pieces. I need to move forward in my home and get this place organized. So today friends, I am sharing my Modern Parisian Inspired Master Bedroom.
This post is sponsored. All thoughts and opinions are mine and mine alone.
So I thought I would share the ugly before shot. I figured, I am not the only one. My bedroom, of all places, was our family dumping ground. The room we threw crap in when guest came over…The room that was barely used or even lived in. We, the mister and I, did not even sleep in here. I know, crazy, huh? Embarrassing…at the least to say. This is why I had to makeover our closet before working on the bedroom (You can see the closet reveal, HERE). I can also say…all of the clothes you see was folded at one time then placed (thrown) in this room. In the boxes are shoes, purses, book bags, and junk paper that we were too lazy to throw away. Trust me you, that is going, going, gone by Spring Break. I refuse to live in this mess! We have never had our personal room be a dumping ground and it is depressing…I am so happy that the mess is behind me now. Yes, I organized this space and tried to thing of everything to maximize our storage solutions.
I purchased this side dresser approximately 7 years ago off of Craig. I have never seen anything like it. I know it is vintage. I painted it using Velvet Finishes paint color, Understated and Deco Art Brass Gold Metallic. I think the style of the piece is Chinoiserie or Hollywood Regency. Maybe a mix of MCM and Chinoiserie. The legs give me a Chinoiserie vibe….not just because I painted them gold. I have yet to add hardware to them because I haven’t found anything that I like. I don’t know exactly the type of hardware, but I want it to be ME!
The sconces are from Lamps Plus. They are so pretty, I just love them! I think they might just be my favorite fixture in the room.
I replaced my non-working ceiling fan with a new one from Lamps Plus. I am just so happy it works, that is all that matters to me. The wallpaper is from Anewall and it is called Ambroise. You can see more of this accessory closet HERE and HERE.
The bed was literally thrown together… Hey guys, I am using what I have and I don’t have a fancy duvet because I have to find what I am looking for. However, I did buy a nice thick wool throw king size blanket from Italy for this room, but it did not make the cut…I am kind of sad over it, but it will get used. It is really pretty, the colors would have clashed with the rug….I know…BUMMER! I did splash out and get a new memory foam mattress though! I know you guys can’t see it but rest assured that it’s so comfortable!
Not sure how I feel about putting my “stuff” on display (on the net), but that is what is going on in my bedroom. I have so many shoes and bags…it is ridiculous. I cannot give them away even though I do not use most of them, because my mother gave them to me and TOLD me not to give them away and to pass it down to my kids. Since I have no where to store it, I figure, I store it as a form of art. Maybe it will inspire me to switch up my wardrobe and get my groove back. HAHA!
The brass shelves were a Facebook Marketplace find that the mister purchased for me…We basically got it for free. Hey, he could not pass it up.
I decided to bring in my swivel chairs that Lamps Plus graciously sponsored for one of my past One Room Challenges into this space. They did not really fit the other areas of my home, but they look good in here. Our bedroom is huge, so I felt it was okay for me to create little areas throughout the room. This seating area was primarily inspired by the mister’s love of work. He can work here with his laptop late at night instead of in the living room, which I rather prefer.
I replaced our plantation shutters with bamboo blinds that I purchased from Lowes and the hung curtains that I purchased from Lady Depetro on Instagram, you can find her shop on Etsy at Modern Home Eclectic. Guys, she is seriously the BEST and has one of the best shops on the gram…NO LIE!
I barely shop for myself, but when I do…I bet you, it is vintage or secondhand. My girls are so blessed! They definitely come in my room moving things around and try shoes, clothes, and purses….Guys…Sorry, but this is just ridiculous, because I am not even high maintenance, nor do I care about brands. However, I am extremely grateful for my mother and sister for splurging on me and for all they have ever done for me. Please no negative comments…I know it is excessive.
This lovely pillow is from Smith Honig. I love the fun funky colors! It comes with a set of tassels (seen below).
Okay guys, there you have it…My Modern Parisian Master Bedroom! This is my bedroom. The mister and I are finally enjoying it! The clutter has been organized and donation boxes have been made. Let me know your thoughts!
