Hello peeps! I cannot believe this year is almost over…time flies! If this is your first time here…Welcome, my name is Jessica. This is the third year that I have hosted the Winter Eclectic Home Tour where I gather a group of my favorite eclectic bloggers and we share how we decorate our home for the holiday season. The first room I am sharing is my black room, where the look for the year is ode to a classic elegant Christmas. Before you continue to scroll, please note that this is a REAL home, nothing on this screen is perfect. To be quite honest, I took these pictures the day before Thanksgiving…enjoy!
EEeek…I have always wanted to do one of these “welcome, come in and look at my home” pictures. Thanks to Nostalgic Warehouse and Grandeur Hardware I was able to upgrade my door hardware last month. I will be sharing more about this door hardware in the next couple of days. But in the meanwhile, look and admire.
From the front door, we have my foyer looking into my family room. I have these huge partition doors that we never close because they are old and it gets jammed every. time.we.try. To the right is actually the sitting room which I turned into the dining room so that I can use the “real” dining room as my home office. To see more of the evolution of this space, check this post out!
This has to be one of my favorite views. I love my fireplace.
The kids talked me into pulling out the pencil tree this year and putting it up. Let me say, they were right, it fits this space like a glove. The ornaments are all recycled ornaments from previous years. I hate spending money on seasonal decor so if I do spend money, I always stick to a budget and I never pay FULL price. I just cannot justify it.
This year instead of wrapping fake gifts, I thought I would use what I already have and display it as decor under the tree. I love it and it looks prettier than boxes, plus I am being eco-friendly.
There is something about this tree when it is lit. I shines throughout the whole house and is just breathtaking.
For more of these ornaments and how I used them in the past, check HERE.
Here is my buffet/sideboard…not much to it but a head and some brass.
Here is a teaser pic of a tablescape that I did using things that I already owned. See my holiday tablescape from last year, HERE.
I just love how the sun kisses this space. I hope you enjoyed my tour of this room, I will be sharing another space(s) later this week but in the meanwhile do not forget to check out the rest of my buddies as they share their home throughout the week. Up next for this tour is one of the sweetest most talented gals I know, Jess from Bright Green Door. You do not want to miss her home tour!
