Oh My! This is my first post since I have been back from summer break and in all honesty, it is so appropriate for where my mental state has been. Once summer break is over my mind immediately takes a left turn into the fall season. So I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity for me to share my interpretation of a moody fall harvest tablescape PLUS I have a little something at the end that I think you would love and can create on your own!!!
When I think of fall, I think of family, friends, food, and fun! Growing up my mother would host dinners and get togethers where she would create a lavish buffet style meals and deck out her house to whatever theme her heart desired. As much as I hated cleaning for these occasions, it is something that I have grown to appreciate. As a mother, I have learned that is important to surround yourself in good company. The lavish buffet style dinner that my mom would put on was a form of how she shared her appreciation for her friends and family. This is also something that my husband and I have done on a few occasions. As the years pass and our kids get older, it is something that we desire to do more often, even if it is just for dessert. For me, in particular, Fall is my favorite season and is the time of the year where I LOVE to entertain. It is also the most stressful time of year for my family due to all the holiday chaos.
So before autumn even sets in, I decided to eliminate the stress and start preparing early. I shopped my local World Market down in Lubbock Texas and gathered some entertaining essentials to create the perfect fall harvest tablescape. My sense of style is more dark, medieval, and moody and I really wanted that to reflect when I entertain. I mixed and matched metals and dishware to create the atmosphere that I desire. I added a pop of color by going with some reproduction depression-esque glassware, a macrame table runner and table linen to add texture, and I topped it off with simple centerpiece using olive stems to add the right amount of greenery, but it does not end there… Not only do I have a 5 minute DIY for you to try at home, but I also have some news for YOU!!!…World Market is having deals here…deals there…deals everywhere to help you with planning your fall dinner party.

In the beginning of my post I stated that I have a lil’ something that you can do and guys…I DO! Behold, this tutorial only takes approximately 5 minutes and it is only three steps long. Let me not forget, it can also add that refreshing element to your fall tablescape.
Steps for Creating Fall Inspired Olive Branch Candlestick Ringlets
- Gather Materials- Faux Olive Stems | Wire Cutters | Floral Wire
- Cut stems large enough to make a circle the size of your wrist or wide enough to slide through the top of your candlestick.
- Bend stem into a circle and secure it by using floral wire. Cut the floral wire using wire cutters. I doubled up on my stems so that it could have a more full look.
If the wires bother you feel free to cover them up using floral tape. However, I noticed that once they are on the table and clustered with all the other ones, you will not even notice them.
You know, sometimes I forget that simple is often better. This 5 minute, 3 step tutorial added all the extra oomph that my table needed. It is something that I can reuse. It is even something that I can teach my friends to make and inspire them to think outside the box. I look forward to using my World Market dishes this fall when I invite my friends and family over to show them how much I love and appreciate them. Happy Fall!!!
