November is finally here! I am normally in the Halloween spirit, but for some reason I felt like October dragged on for quite a while. I cannot wait for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year I will be hosting my extended family for Christmas, so I am super pumped for them to see my new home. I have so much to do in very little time. Talk about preparing for the upcoming holiday season, my friend Ariel over at PMQ for Two is hosting a HUGE winter wreath bloghop and I decided to participate. I am really excited for this bloghop, because I have always wanted to make a faux boxwood wreath but I never had a reason to do so, until now….I have so many doors and windows that need dressing up, is is ridiculous! Any chance I get to spruce them up (doors and windows), I will take it!
Materials needed to make a faux boxwood wreath
- Faux boxwood bundles (I used 8 total)
- 1-18″ Grapevine wreath
- Floral wire
- A wire cutter
Steps to create your own faux boxwood wreath
- Gather supplies. You can pick up all your materials at your local craft store.
- With your wire cutters, cut boxwood stems/leaves off of the MAIN stem. Keep some stems long, this will create a more full look
- With your floral wire, secure the cut boxwood clippings. Before applying layers of leaves to create a “full” look on your wreath, make sure you secure clippings around the whole wreath first. After one go around the wreath, fill in gaps with the rest of the trimmings.
Feel free to attach a bow and hang on your door. I really like the look of it as-is and I have hung it up already and it is popping up against my black door. I always love using grapevine for wreath making and this has to be one of the easiest wreaths to make. Make sure you pin my image below so you know where to come for the full tutorial.
