You don’t really see this type of finesse unless you are living in a custom built home…Aren’t we fancy? The main reason I decided to do this was because it was just so nasty under our toe kick. It made our kitchen look grimy. We have been living with the toe kicks covered for the past few months and I honestly love it. We do not miss it all. In fact, I think we were more afraid to put our feet under the the toe kick, that is how nasty it was.
Materials for this Project
Baseboards
Wood Studs
Nail Gun
Steps to Installing baseboards over Cabinet Toe kicks
- Clean under toe kicks. Make sure that there are no crumbs or debris hanging out under there.
- Gather materials.
- Slide wood stud under toe kick. Make sure that wood is snug and flush with toe kick. I measured my toe kick prior to buying wood to find right size.
- Cut and place baseboard over toe kick. Make sure that wood does not jut out so that baseboard is flush against cabinet and wood stud.
- With your nail gun, nail baseboard to cabinet and wood stud. Make sure it is secure by nailing into the actual cabinet.
