It is that time again…it is the New Year, New Room Refresh hosted by my friend Stephanie from Casa Watkins Living. This week I am sharing my plans for the space. My apologies as my blog posts are a bit behind. For a real life update, please checkout my insta stories. Sadly, the room I am “refreshing” is my workspace. A realization came last year when my eldest entered middle school that I need to create a space where my kids can hangout with their friends. You see, I grew up in a household where I wasn’t allowed to have friends in my room and I plan on implementing this rule in my house. I want to create a safe, happy place where my kids can enjoy the company of their friends.

The wallpaper from my office is called Silhouette Peacock Blue and Gold from Tempaper. Unfortunately, it is coming down. I would love to put it on all 4 walls but due to the recent state of our Nation and the Pandemic, we are choosing to save our pennies and recreating a similar look inspired by this wallpaper by doing a stencil DIY.

The art on my plans are subject to change but I do promise you this, there will be color. This room will be moody and fun. All the furnishings, I already own. I placed an order for a new light fixture, art, and curtains. I really wanted Farrow and Ball’s Inchrya Blue, however, it read quite dull on 3 walls… my kids even pointed it out. I even considered Farrow and Ball’s Vardo. Maybe in another room, who knows? With this said, we went teal…a color not in my vocabulary. My hopes are for my curtains to be a dark teal….crossing my fingers.

I know I can’t be alone when I say, I need a distraction from all that is going on in the world. For more distraction, checkout my friends below.
